Bodybuilder Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) is sick and tired of struggling to make ends meet. Lugo plans to kidnap gym regular and successful executive Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub) and extort him through means of torture. Enlisting the help of recently released convict Paul Doyle (Dwayne Johnson) and Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie) form the 'Sun Gym Gang'. But when Kershaw survives an attempted murder, he hires the hard hitting Detective Ed Du Bois (Ed Harris) to track down the gang.
